Help with choosing a pump for another setup
 

I have another setup to configure and wanted to ask if an Eheim 1250 or a mag 3 or 5 would be best in this setup: WW block and DD gpu block, dtek rad with all 1/2" id tubing. I have the eheim 1250 in it now and my temps are 39c idle and 47 load(prime95). This setup is cooling a sl6rz @ 195fsb on an albatron 865pe pro. Now I know this seems a little warm but my ambient is usually around 28-29c in that room at all times and the fan from my water chiller is pointing in the direction of this comp, so I know it gets warm around it.

Would the more head of the mag pumps help me a little bit over the ehiem I have installed now?

as far as the supreme mag-drive pumps are concerned, i would opt for the mag-3 rather than the mag-5. the mag-5 pump has the same max head as the mag-3, but uses 45 watts while the mag-3 uses 35 (the mag-5 is a little more powerful, generally having greater flow rate than the mag-3). also, the mag drive pumps tend to have leaky housings (easily fixed with some silicone sealant however) and has a strong EMP which will make your monitor flicker if its close enough.

personally i wouldnt invest in a new pump. im not sure you would get temps any better than what youre getting now (of course then only real way to find out is to buy the pump, but i wouldnt get your hopes up). instead, i would try to find ways to lower the ambient temp to the radiator or try increasing the airflow through it.

I'll take your advice and go get an airconditioner for the room. My ambient stinks but I think if I could run a window ac unit and say run it at 68f all the time, that would help it keep cooler too I would think. I could put another rad in it, but don't really want more tubing in the case as it is tight enough as it is cooling the cpu and gpu...
