I have been planning to make my own water block for a little while now. Until now, the idea has been to follow the lead of swiftech and danger den, and make a big "hole" or a maze, but just recently i found this forum, and it changed my perspective dramatically... Thanks to jaydee116 and cathar ++ for tips and inspiration!

Here's what i've come up with (inspired a lot by jaydee116 and cathar's work. too much perhaps?):

Okay, I understand your picture, but can you make that?

tjek this one out I just posted, that is my waterhead, I think it will be work great, and it is simple to make...

Looks like a decent starting point. Come up with a way to at least increase volocity over the drilled dimples and it should work alright. making a midddle peice with holes that match the holes in the base might be futile though on this one. maybe just a nice jet of some kind. Looks like my REV. 4/5 except with holes instead of pyrmid pins. Also go a head and make the outlets 1/2" aswell.

Ok. I made the outlets 1/2". I was planning to use a jet, but i don't know how to make a good one, so this is what i've come up with:

If you are planning on using barbs your holes are to close together.

And other than that this wb will work just fine (like "maze-fine"), you think?

hehe. i haven't got access to a lot of machines to do the work for me... can it be improved without any other tools than a drill and a dremel (black & decker), and in that case how?

Probably not. When you make the inlet outlet holes make sure they are the right size for whatever tap your going to use if your going to use threaded barbs anyway.

Ok. Is it OK to use a base plate that is 3 mm thick, and about 1 mm thick at the holes? How high should the channels leading to the outlets be?

That pretty thin without any structual support. I would go 2mm from the bottom of the holes to the bottom of the base. Don't leave to much gap as you really need the water to be slamming into those holes. To much gap and the water will not make it into the hole. You also need anough gap to have some flow. it a tough balancing act which took me a while and several attemps on my REV. 4 block.

Is it ok then to use a 4 mm thick bp and set the holes to 2 mm deep? I'm very uncertain about the height of the channels. Would 5 mm be enough?

4mm base with 2mm deep holes. I would go 3.5mm for the channels. I think 5mm would be to high.
