MaxxXPERT Rad...
How well does it perform compared to a BIX or heatercore?
|
I ordered the Maxxpert Rad but canceled the order and got a Aquacoil II instead. Here's a pic:
http://www.chadandjodi.com/watercool/newcoil1.jpg Very similiar Rad to Maxxpert. My temps are 38c idle and 40c load with Whitewater block. |
Im selling my Dtek Rad, thats brand new with shroud for $25 Shipped.
Selling b/c I have aquacoil now. Its actually a down grade works better for my case. |
i'm not sure if i want to buy one. i was curioud to see if it performed well because of its depth...more surface area. but at the same time it looks like it has high air resistance...
|
Well look at the Aquacoil that I have very similiar to the Maxxpert.
Actually the waterflow and Airflow are better with Aquacoil than the Dtek heatercore. But temps are a little better w/ Dtek core. edit: if you can fit a Dangerden rad into your case I would get that. if your using uv dye watch out for the heatercore's. |
Can't find the Aquacoil anywhere
Yeah I have a Maxxxpert Radiator, But I'm just buying parts for water cooling My pc right now. Say what's the size of that Aquacoil anyway?
I found some sites that mention the Aquacoil radiator using Google, But otherwise No Luck. HW Extreme had a comparison of the Aquacoil and the Big Mama, But has since taken It down and has said that review was not accurate and that They will be doing a new comparison of the two instead. http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&l...=Google+Search |
The specs and pics can be seen here for the Aquacoil.
http://www.parrett.net/becooling/archives.html 6.8" (Wide) x 5" (Tall) x 4.5" (Deep) |
Thanks, But of course, Becooling isn't selling them anymore. They possibly can't get them anymore.:( I'll just have to put up with the Maxxxpert that I have, Yes It's smaller 6"W x 4 13/16"T x 2 3/4"D . :(
|
Not true my friend, I just bought my Aquacoil from Brian 3 days ago, it was used. Call him and ask if he has another. He may be able to find another.
Also look at link http://forums.procooling.com/vbb/sho...&threadid=6756 Ask him about the Danger Den Cooling Cube or even call Danger Den about one. |
Well It's a moot point now as I have a a smaller Maxxxpert radiator, now.:D :(
|
Heres one more thought.
You dont have to have just one maxxpert in your system. There so small you might be able to put another one side by side and have 2. |
I'd have to install It externally, As My cases interior is about 17"17"x7" in size. My pump is about 1.75" wide from what I've read before I bought It, It hasn't arrived Yet, It's a 200Gph inline pump that I bought new on ebay (for $23.13/US$). Here's what It looks like:
http://www.artflowdesigns.com/auction/pump200.jpg # This pump power is good for: # Fountains - Recommended: Double the water fountain or statuary's height to the pump's maximum height. If too much power, better to turn down than buy a pump that's not strong enough. # Remember the gallons per hour at the pump's maximum height is almost '0'. # wearproof ceramic shaft means longer lasting pump. # 120V - 60Hz. # Oil Free Motor # Very Quiet # 3.0"L x 1.75"W x 2.5"H # Flow rate is adjustable - 0 to 200 GPH. # Includes assortment of attachments; elbow, flow adjustment, extenders, gravel hose, etc. # Maximum height is 4 Feet # 6 Month manufacturer warranty. |
Cant wait to see your system in action and temps.
Are you going to use UV Dye? |
Yeah, but I'll need another UV light as the pair that have are too dimm, I have a 15" one (I had to cut a hole in the case, As It's longer than 15") But It flickers and has since day the I put It together and It still flickered when I re-did the wires, with solder It still flickered, I attached some probes to It and bypassed the wires and found that It has to be either the inverter circuit (connections to the light are good) or the light itself that's doing the flickering. Most of the time It's semi-dark (but It's lit), sometimes It's bright. So It's worthless until It's fixed If ever It gets done. I'm not able to do that as I don't know what is wrong on the boards circuitry. :(
|
I bought one UV light from Dtek and it works GREAT.
Bright and low heat and low voltage. With my highlighter dye it looks awesome. I think I will add one more light to system and it will light the corner of the room up with UV Green! :) Sweeeeettttnneeeesssssssssssss Finally!! |
Well I'm raising cash right now on My ebay Items for sale page to get one or two items on My to acquire list:
1. Gemini Cool High Performance cpu & gpu water blocks (The NB and SB chips will have to do as air cooled with Zalman NB heatsinks (installed already), I also installed 3-small heatsinks with 1/4" long (or so) fins on the Mosfets, 2-on the inline chips and 1-on the one that's at a right angle to the on others) with ASE. 2. Power Plant PCI card 3. 2-Danger Den 120mm Fan Shrouds Clear, 3/4" thick and $13.95 each, My 120mm fans are Sunon 108cfm and 25mm thick, I may need to get a YS-Tech 131cfm fan for the best performance though. 4. 2-Extra 120mm Fan Guards So that I can install filters on top too ( Just look at this post) So that those two fans will blow air in, Instead of out and that should keep All the Dust Out, period. I have to make a hole in the bottom of the case so that the warmed up air from the Maxxxpert will be expelled out through the bottom of the case. 5. Extra hose clamps? 6. A box To route the warm air out the bottom of the case and connect to the 120mm case fan, (I'll get the box from Radio Shack possibly and It should be about 5"x5"x2" or so in size). 7. A Bright 6" UV light at case-mod.com. I already have these parts: 10' of 1/2" OD 3/8" ID Tubing, Some hose clamps, 5.25" Drive Bay Reservoir, Maxxxpert Radiator, 200Gph pump (on It's way). |

Ambient=24.5°C, idle: http://users.skynet.be/turbokeu/myco...bm5.3-idle.jpg Load with Prime95-torture test, after half an hour: http://users.skynet.be/turbokeu/myco...bm5.3-load.jpg |
I just LOVE how you did the shroud and placement of the AquaCoil II !!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I get sick of my case I want it to die and come back like yours. :) Although my tubing setup is pretty sweet especially under UV light. Everyone take lessons on the above pics. NO warm air from Rad going into case. Cold air from outside case and warm air going outside case also. |
