Acrylic or Lexan

Which one is easier to work with... ie: easier to cut without cracking?

thick or thin? thin lexan you can just cut with scissors or a razor really easy...

i remember trying to cut acrylic with a dremel, man that was a freaking nightmare, i gave up

Pretty thin, no thicker than 1/16.

you can probably razor that or scissors then... that's what we use to cut out bodies of r/cs and stuff... i'd probably suggest a razor tho

I hear its extremely easy to scratch (or maybe its acrylic thats easy to scratch).

mm... yes and no. lexan is generally extremely durable, but you can get small surface scratches pretty easily.

and a warning: it also generally melts very easily :)

I've been working on my new case, just made of acrylic, and a little lexan...

I've used 0.75mm lexan, really easy to work with, just use a scissor, like "iroc409" types...

I've also used 3, 5 and 10mm acrylic, here i used my Dremel to cut, and do CNC like thinks...

I will soon have some pics....

you have to be careful with acrylic and dremels though, if the rpm is too high it just melts all over the place. better to use a plastic cutting knife, or a hot knife. tried to make a panel for my camaro dash, finally just had someone else do it. they did it better though, it was beveled and everything :)
