How to Power my pump?
Hey,
I finally got most of my wc parts together and I forgot about the pump powercord. I really don't want to run it out the back. I also don't want to wire it directly to the psu? What to you guys do? Thanks - GaretJax |
run it out the back ;)

I put a second plug for the pump in the back of my case:

Once I get my PC back in a case I will do what pH did. You can get those connectors out of old AT PSUs.

Wire it on your PSU's power cord ! It'll be a lot nicer, and you'll end up with only 1 power cord.

Sup garet,
As a matter of fact I just got around to wiring my pump to my psu today, very ez- , took cover off psu-wired to entry plug(soldered)- drill hole for wire entry into psu- pull wires through- install grommet- close up psu. Run wires to pump area- install relay (12v coil- from psu) hookup pump to relay- done. Love the fact that I no longer use 2 plugs on strip, and even more than that I love the fact that when I turn on my puter, it turns pump on too. 1 switch....TY heheh, was starting to get a little concerned about the taped on sticky with ("DO NOT TURN ON WITHOUT TURNING ON PUMP FIRST!!!, AND MAKE SURE IT STAYS PLUGGED IN!") falling off and my girl just firing up my box without pump running, lol Well worth the effort I think. You can get a regular power outlet thats 1 inch square from any hardware store for a few bucks. Solder that into the back on the one on the power supply (not as hard as it sounds) and you can plug in the pump to the side of the power supply.
