Odd Client consistancy.

If you guys have weird consistancy with your D.F. clients or it seems as if it is stuck then don't be alarmed. It is supposed to be that way.

However I do find it pretty odd that I have been slowly dropping output everyday. My first few days I was averaging 100,000 points a day with only 2 computers. Now I have 3 computers runnng and have dropped 45% to about 55,000 points aday.

I am thinking about removing the clients from the 3 comps and starting fresh to see if that will increas output and if the same pattern persists.

Also there seems to be a possible problem with excessive memory usage. Keep an eye on that and reboot the computer if the memory usage is over 150megs for the D.F. client.

I may not be totally correct here, but I think with each next generation there is more time spent. Is it possible your clients are on a high generation number?

if you have reached generation 100, you will receive (50 structures) * SQRT(gen.100) = 50 * 10 = 500 points for uploading those 50 structures, and so forth. Fractions are truncated downwards. This scheme is implemented because more time is spent trying to complete each fold in the higher generations. Thus they are visibly slower than the randomly produced generation zero. The higher scoring will also encourage users to reach generation 250.

They have been through each generation set a few times and it is the same inconsistancy from Gen 1 to Gen 250. In fact it seems as if the later gens are actually faster as I get more "sticky" steps in the earlier gens. One of my comps spent 12hrs just on one step in one of the gens the other day (it was one on the 90s). These "sticky" steps is whats killing me the most. I didn't have any the first time through the 250 gens and thats why I averaged around 100,000 a day with just 2 comps. Now I got 3 comps and am down to alomost 53,000 a day and spend over 15hrs a day just on sticky steps in the gens. . Worst of all I have yet to get under a 7 RMS with all these sticky steps. :(

I just added about 400 more mhz on my main rig so maybe it will speed up some...... XP1700+@1890mhz air cooled. I love the overclocking options on this Abit KD7.

And now I am up well over 100,000 again for today??? Weird stuff. Hope everyone is having the same cosistancy I am having.

This is pathetic! For a few days my comps will average 120,000 and then the next 2 days they will average 40,000.

The last two hours I dumped 435 one hour and 438 the next TOTAL! WTF? The worst part is the RMS value is not dropping at all. I would expect a very low RMS for all the access time/money/enegry being spent on these particular structures. 438 points an hour between 3 comps is BS!! Maybe two comps are down or something but still anyone of them should average 1,000 points an hour.

Well before I flip out to much I better get back to work. Boss will probably come in today so I better look some what busy. :D
