Water Safety Solutions
Was reading some people's concerns about water frying their PCs. Discuss options for waterproofing PCs here.
Some ideas I've been mulling over: Use a thermally conductive, electrically insulating paint to coat our components, and use some form of seals around pci slots, etc. Design a double tubing system. Every tube and connection has a second tube which it runs through. The second layer tube is a drainage system to the reservoir. Any high pressure or slow leaks would be safely contained. A cut off switch for the main power is a good idea too. The only problem with that is by the time the capacitors have been drained of power, it's likely too late to prevent damage. I'd really like to hear some other ideas on this subject :) |
item 1: A towel.
My pump leaks and drips on the bottom of the case. as this is not near any electrical componants the worst thin about it is I have to top up my systen every 4 hours and change the towel every eight. |
Sounds like a lot of trouble when we have hose clamps and goop available.
But if u like things complex u could always put moisture sensures on each and every connection. Have it sound an alarm and also have the system phone u and tell u where the leak is. |
