what do you use to cap off a T res?

hi all,

i finally got all my watercooling parts except what to use to cap off my T-reservoir. tubing is clearflex60 1/2". I'm not too sure what to look for when i head back to home depot.

any recommendiations appreciated. btw, if it matters, all my clapms are worm clamps.

thanks!

I use a brass fitting that has a barbed end and a threaded end, and get a brass cap to close it up. I got them from Home Depot.

bolt with rubber grommet (for my 3/8). You can get these rubber grommet/vibration absorbing things in various sizes at radioshack

also used a marble before, but hard to remove

Welcome to the forum Braddogg!

Thanks for the suggestions both Braddog and kibbler. Would either of you have pictures of your cap on (closed) and off (open for filling)?

Braddogg 07-19-2003 02:55 PM

I don't have a digital camera yet. So I don't have any pictures yet.

i'm pretty sure what you mean by a brass fitting that's barrbed/threaded, but not sure what the brass cap is.

Braddogg 07-19-2003 04:26 PM

The brass cap is basically just a end cap that screws onto the fitting to close it. You will find them at Home Depot with the other brass fittings.

Try a 1/2" pvc plug. Cost like 30 cents.

How about a tap?

I use a PVC-plug.

Might be a bit expensive to order it from Sweden, though.
Seen 1/2" screws being used to cap off tubes, but they´re heavier, might or might not be a problem.

Plastic pipe/tube end cap. The kind of thing that goes on the end of metal chair legs...

A markerpen cap/lid is good as well...

GenGoku 07-21-2003 11:54 AM

Thanks for the help everyone. I ended up getting a nylon 1/2" barb with threaded end. shoved the barb into the tube and the threaded end outside. a screw-on pvc cap is used to close it up.
