MCW40 with 1/2" barbs?
How hard would it be to convert a Swiftech MCW40 with the default fittings to 1/2" barbs? I have heard of it being done, but can't seem to find any links on the subject
Anyone done this/seen it done? |
it shouldn't be too difficult, but i know that several websites actually sell the converters.
e.g. http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/38stemto12ho.html http://www.swiftnets.com (the swiftech site) Ask someone more knowlegable than me if you want a DIY solution ;) |
You can find 1/2" barbs with 1/4 NPT threads (or do they use 3/8" NPT?). The problem is that you'll be tempted to use brass fittings, and you really don't want to do that, because it's going to scratch the anodizing off of the aluminium: you *have to* stick to nylon fittings.
