Need advice on small size pumps
my latest watercooling project involves a shuttle xpc case (SN45G). My goal is not necessarily to get the best overclocks out of a watercooled system, but to have a high spec/ quiet system running at an acceptable temp (all withing a case the size of a large toaster oven...!). Call me silly, but I am going try to make this fully enclosed (without the need for placing pump/rad in an external case). once this project is completed, I'll move on to growing bonzai plants... Size/space as you can imagine are an issue.
http://www.amdzone.com/articleimages...rior_small.jpg I am hoping to get both CPU and GPU watercooled. I have to compromise on radiators and will use a BIM (blackice micro) 80mm rad. One of the main issue I have is finding a small but reliable pump. as the mobo sits on the bottom of the case (I can't afford to have any leaks...). So far in my research, I've found the following pump by sysfx.net which is 2.6"Hx1.8"Lx1.4"W. this has been used by others in watercooled shuttles and will fit along the drive case. http://www.sysfx.net/images/imgs/IL-120.gif edit: could that sysfx pump be a premodded rio 180 with a custom intake? What are some other reliable pumps that maybe that size and are "rated"approx 120-150gph? the rio 180 looks like it might have the right dimensions, but it seems to get a lot of negative opinions. hydor L20 would be too big. |
