Which pump would you recomend?
Hi I'm new to posting here and WC'ing.
I've been gathering pieces for an external setup for Rig1 in my sig. So far I have a Cascade, DD Z-Chip and a Pro Core combo rad. The one thing I can't decide on is the pump. A local shop sells Eheim 1250 and Danner #3. I keep seeing mixed reviews on the Danner and a few of my friends say it's a little loud. The wattage is less in the Eheim but so is the flow/head. Could someone here help me figure out which one would be best for my rig? TIA -Ron |
Either would be good.
The Mag3 may leak at the impeller housing without the addition of some goop, and tends to crack at the hose threads, but this can be prevented with a hose clamp around the the outside of the hose thread. The Danner's also tend to emit substantially more magnetic field, which may result in CRT issues. The Eheim 1250 costs more. I'd be surprised if you could even tell the difference between the performance of the two pumps unless you were using something better than motherboard sensors. |
Thanks Since87. I've posted on this before but can't make my mind up. The Eheim is around $75 and the Danner is $50. I don't mind spending the extra money for quality and performance.
