Tube deposits
 

Just come home from a holliday, took some time to re-tube my rig and this is what I pulled out of the case. The rig was now on 24/7 for a year, and I used distilled water with isopropyl as an additive. It looks like the deposits are bacteria/algae combo, the case was usually closed, and water changed occasionally when I was installing new blocks. Does this happen to the silicone tubes too?

what are those tubes made of? you may need to use more than just isopropyl as an additive

and youre sure its a bacteria or some type of growth? rather than rust from something?

Those are PVC tubes. They first developed whiteish film on the inside walls, than this green stuff, I suppose those are algae.
Yup, you're right, need something stronger than isopropyl:D

Give Airspirits *sol solution a try. One time or another we all get some type of nasties growing (Regardless of tubing type), or just residue from various additives (Water wetter).
His *sol is 50%water 40%Pinsol 10%Lysol
Run it warm/hot through your system for a few hours then rinse rinse rinse, and refill. It has done wonders for people on this forum as well as myself, and a few friends.
EDIT : Do a search for *sol, airspirit, or "Sick Algae buildup"

isnt pinsol and lysol the same stuff? one just smells like a nice spings eve in a beautiful pine forest?

and will the lemon scent pinsol work?

dish washing liquid does wonders too....... :D I'm a cheap skate, I know.
