The Perfect watercooling case?

Have any suggestions for which case is the perfect case for watercooling?

t00lb0x 08-18-2003 02:16 AM

No one thinks they have "the perfect case for watercooling"?

dima y 08-18-2003 02:21 AM

actually i do. This is mostly due to the fact that i made my case from scatch, this way i can have a wind tunnel for my heatercore.

it THE BEST WAY FOR A PERFECT CASE.

antecs are pretty nice in my opinion. but not perfect

Xaser III?

t00lb0x 08-18-2003 02:34 AM

I dont know, you should be more positive in your answer. Like XaserIII!!!!! Not XaserIII? Its like your answering my question with another question.

I am working on the perfect case (imo) but still have a way to go. It takes a lot of money to bring a good case to market and I have put most of my efforts to my block.

"Xaser III"

I should kick you. :evilaugh:

I´m happy with my Chieftek Dragon (it looks soooo innocent), but I do envy the guys with YY-cubes.

I'm going to try to use a Lian Li PC60 for my setup.

supz 08-18-2003 08:40 AM

I have been wanting to get one of these lately, due to the huge amount of empty space at the top, and large number of drive bays. You could definately fit a nicely sized radiator into it... and cheap too.

But for now I'm going to stick to my dragon case.

winewood 08-18-2003 09:15 AM

I use the Chieftech or Antec case (same thing really). You can get them at a fair price, and they have the window, and fans that you need to get a good flow in the compartment. They are also VERY modifyable. The rivets only take a drill to pop, and its all Alu. so it cuts really easy.

The closing front keeps my son out of it. :D

Lite-On FS-020.

Better yet, build your own.

Not to my eye....

Heck NO!

Rule #1. You will always get a big enough case to hold your stuff - BARELY!! If you have an open case, you will find more to stick in there until...

Rule #2. There will be something in the wrong place or layout

Even my Chenbro SR-103 server case is a nightmare to try to rearrange (had to fix some wiring this weekend) w/o pulling it all out. Also ahd to mod the heck out of it to get what I wanted in there in the first place!

Sooo - plans for next case (Rev 3.0 - DIY) are hatching in my mind as I type:

1. Will be height of Desk(nothing goes above it anyway so why not!)

2. Motherboard will sit Horizontal (let heat rise) and blow out back.

3. Rads/pumps will get their own compartment w/ fans at back blowing out.

4. Hard drives in back are good idea, same compartment as MB.

5. PSU may be in same area as MB, gotta figure that out.

6. Question for general discussion: given something like above, should rads / pumps go above or below MB (see good reasons for both setups, want more views).

Got pretty good w/ riveter during last project, plan to make main support structure out of AL angle and sheet for internal air baffles, then enclose whole thing in Oak / Maple (looks nice and deadens sound also). May start a new thread to garner ideas from the intellegent masses....:D

Ok I am new so I will bite on this on just to see the responses I get.

I just acqured (read scounged from local company that shall remain nameless.) This Cabinet.

This should make a pretty decent starting point for a W/C rig I would think. At leastt hat is my current project.

Now all I need to do is get the $$$ up for the custom RAdiator and Res I want to put in it's back panel and one of Cather's Silver Cascades and I will be set.

I want one... Wait, no I don't, I go to LAN parties... If I had that case, I would put all 3 of my computers in that one box, and run the wiring to the center of the room...

golovko 08-19-2003 11:48 PM

i like my lian-li pc70, its a great wc case - lightweight and plenty of room/features.

bigben2k 08-19-2003 11:56 PM

I like my Cheftec Dragon DA-01 (see link in sig), but I'd like to try out a YY cube sometime (can YY read this?:D )

Maybe on the next build.

I like the mountainmods case, except for a few nitpicky things... it really should be all 120mm fan mounts (and fewer of them). They might want to give some thought to doing a specalized version for watercooling with a place for res mounting and oversized radiators and such. That could go over quite well.. lord knows it has the room for it.

Phantom: You know you want that case.. then you could rig up R/C gear for it! Then it would carry ITSELF to LAN parties. :D

Phant0m51 08-20-2003 02:03 PM

Heh, I could drag it around with my new T-Max 1 HP motor! That'd be awesome!

Hellion_Prime 08-20-2003 03:37 PM

I can see it now.. Pro/2-D2!

FallOutBoyTonto 08-20-2003 03:50 PM

From where?

I've tried looking, but can't find any vendors that carry the U2-UFO case and ships to Canada. Are there any Canadian vendors that carry it yet? Or is it still too soon?
