Where should I put my T-line?
Was running a Maxi-Jet1200 for awhile. Now I have a Ehiem1250. I'm wondering where I should put my T line. I would think right before my heatercore but I wanted to ask and see what would be BEST.

Hi Cheeseball!
I like the way you're able to ask the most annoying questions... ;) Ideally, you'd want that T-line at the top of your loop. The reason for that is that when you fill up your rig, any air bubbles can easily escape right there and then. That leaves you with the air that's trapped inside the waterblock, core, etc, and running it will clear it up, eventually. |
Being air is lighter than water and air bubbles float to the top that would suggest the best place would be above all other parts in the system.

Yeah, I know most of my questions must be annoying. But all the other questions I can either figure out on my own, I already know how *I* want to try it, or I can find it w/ the search w/ out getting too pissed off at the 3 character minimum! (I didn't even try to seach this one I guess I'm just a stinker)
Ahh, I suppose that makes sence because not all the air will be out on the first cycle. But I was just worrying about the air that gets caught in the heatercore that won't easily float out (w/ out shaking). |

What I did works really well - instead of a "T" Line, I used a "Y" on the return from the block to the pump inlet. So the left top of the Y goes to the block, and the bottom of the Y goes to the pump inlet. The top right of the Y goes to the "Y" line and feed. It bled the the whole loop in 2 hours or so. Works really well, and much more convienent than a T, at least in my rig. Frob |
