Best tubing for pushfits?
Purchasing two Swiftech MCW5000 blocks with John Guest quick connects. Is vinyl tubing the best to use with pushfits or will Tygon or Clearflex work equally well?
Sharp bends aren't a huge priority, but I understand that vinyl can kink and flatten itself if made to do bends (dual proc system in series, so from waterblock to waterblock required). I'll be using the hose inserts which go inside the tubing, so can I use any tubing with that then? |
Dont use vinyl or tygon with <1/8 walls for the fittings as the tubing is "mushey" and not ridgid. I think clearflex works best with my John Guest fittings. It kinks less and can keep a ridged outer wall needed for a John Guest fitting even with a 1/8th inch wall.

Thanks for the info.
Will get some Clearflex then :) |
you will find contention though. The clearflex wont stay clear as long as tygon. Tygon is medical grade and doesnt absorb impurities as quickly as any of the other junk. Not trying to change your mind.. just showing you the arguements for both.
I was disappointed on how flexible and kink prone the tygon was personally. |
I heard that Tygon absorbed Water Wetter and other additives far more than either PVC or Clearflex tubing as well.
Do you have any experience with a brand of PVC called Kuri-tec? Sidewinder Computers stock it and I'm interested in trying it if it's a little more solid than Clearflex, or Eheim silicon/PVC tubing. |
