Water blocks for amd 64

Hey guys I haven't been keeping up with the scene. I have my maze 3 and a blackice 2 rad. I'm going to be getting the amd 64 3200+ and i was wondering which block would work best for this . Seeing how none of the motherboards have the 4 holes that i use for my current block.

joeyd 09-12-2003 11:55 PM

well the asetek waterchill waterblock can accept pretty much any modern day cpu. and the upcoming ones. http://www.asetek.com/default.asp?sh...on=2&menuID=-1

the zalman waterblock can accept socket 754 cpu's.

and #rotors custom hammer blocks

#rotors block is sweat but expensive as all heck. I have to email him to ask if this will work on current athlons too so i can sell my old block to help pay for this .

pHaestus 09-13-2003 02:28 AM

#rotor's prices are in canadian dollars (seeing as how he's Canadian and all). 0.7 US dollars or so.

joeyd 09-13-2003 03:48 AM

ohhhhh i see so i guess the block is about 50-60$ usd ? Dang those canadians. They are sly

I will be taking delivery of a batch of A64 conversion plates for the Cascade blocks end next week. Come the 22nd September these plates will be available for anyone to convert their existing Cascade block to A64 mode.

Enough of a plug for the Cascade though.

The only other A64 compatible blocks I'm aware of is the Asetek Waterchill, and the Zalman's, as mentioned above.

joeyd 09-13-2003 03:59 PM

How does that work on the athlon 64 boards. They don't have the 4 holes.

ralf_c 09-13-2003 04:07 PM

its only 2 holes now.

joeyd 09-13-2003 04:42 PM

siavash_s_s 09-20-2003 05:38 AM

i didnt read the rest and am gonna post this straight away.. first off be sure u want that 64, then get a block from #rotor

edit: oops

superart 09-20-2003 01:18 PM

Is there a reason that AMD decided to go with 2 holes, even though everyone loved the 4 hole setup so much? Or is it just for shits and giggles?

joeyd 09-20-2003 03:23 PM

I just got my new board in let me tell u the 2 hole idea is great. They are Pegs that are screwed down in this plastic thing that goes around the socket almost like the p4 set up. Its very easy to install and i think just about anyone can do it with out damaging the cpu core. Which was a major complant

#Rotor 09-20-2003 07:05 PM

jip I can not find anything wrong with 2 holes.... much better than 4 if you ask me.... AMD did well.... :)

siavash_s_s 09-20-2003 08:14 PM

can someone post an image of this 2 hole plastic holder thing on the mobo?

BillA 09-21-2003 09:17 AM
