And my radiator

ON similar lines of big ass radiators:
Has anyone thought of using the household "heating system" to cool your computer. When the heating isn't on the water flows through your system cooling it... with such a large amount of water and a LOT of surface are you can't really go wrong. And when the heating is switched on a realy stops the flow to the rest of the household and only goes through a "dedicated radiator" which just looks like a normal household radiator 'cept your computer is heating it. When the heating is switched off and the water in the rest of the system lowers below the temp of the water in the computer circuit it opens the values up and again and the larger water volume cooling things nicely again. It'll certainly fit with the decor of the house and not have your missies shouting abuse at you for running pipes all over her persian rugs. Of course this falls flat on its face during the winter when the heating is on continously and every room in the house is hot. so maybe a water chiller may be in order for those "emergancy days" keeping the temperance in the dedcated radiator just above ambient. Maybe worth thinking about... especially if you have a large array of computers that need serious cooling. With that much water and an almost ready made (and discrete cooling system)set up maybe it is worth looking into. ~ Boli |
Perhaps put a rad in the cold-air return, eh? Might solve both problems....

It's not mine. But yes, aluminum casing with copper tubing. Think Maxxxpert with steroids.
I use something smaller ... much better for transportation. |
