swiftec 462 / Waterblock

I was thinking of wasting $80 getting the swiftec 462 HSF and drilling water channels into it. then if the pump fails, the cpu is still safe, especially if I used a pelt.

Just another crazy idea.

vapochill + 172 watt pelt, sounds good to me!

One drawback to using a Heatsink as a waterblock also is you absorb heat from your surrounding equiptment. in essence you lower the efficeincy of the block cooling the core.

About the VapoChil +172watt Pelt = Not a big increase in cooling. The Pelt looses its efficency at such low temps. Also vapo Chills have a max dissapation limit also, and if you exceed what you can dissapate via the compressor/raidator you risk having the compressor doa thermal shut down on you, or worse, damaging the system.

172watt + 100watt CPU = a shit load of heat.

BTW anyone know Gabe @ swiftec's email addy? I have been trying to email him through his sites email and they all get bounced.
