Customizing a H2O case, input needed.
 

It seems like everytime I cut a hole in my case an hour later I think of a better way I should of done it. After looking into cases on a numer of forums I've come up with plenty of ideas. So I've decided to build a 'concept' case that will include as many as possible. As I'm still a relative newb to the art I need some more ideas(the crazier the better).

1) Aluminum, steel is to time consuming to cut effectively.

2) Flip it upside down, after reading about BTX I came up with this. This would give plenty of room at the bottom of a case for pumps, radiators, and resevoirs. With the elctronics above them theres less risk from a leak.

3) Dual PS capable, this is becoming more and more common so its almost a given.

I'd love to get some additional ideas or at the very least criticism of mine.

The LianLi Pc70 and PC75 are aluminum and support redundent power supplies, but with a good 500-600 watt, the only reason to have two is for running TECs (peltiers).

As for turning a case upsidedown I did it a couple years ago, and I've worked on servers that had the board upside down, its got its atvantages and disatavantages.

sounds pretty good, can't wait to see pics! and speaking as someone who recently completed a "concept" case, if you have access to 3D drafting software (or at least some means of modeling your idea), it is invaluable for checking to make darn sure everything fits properly, especially if you do something unusual and want to keep close tollerances, like the BTX standard for instance. just a thought, but a possible alternative to the BTX would be to jack the motherboard about 6" up from the bottom of the case, that way you could create a "wind tunnel" effect by making a seperate compartment for at least the rad & fan, possibly the pump and res also, and still have it internal instead of doing like some people and building a box to hold that stuff and set the pc on top of it. that way you could isolate the air to the radiator (not dump warmer air into the case and still pull air from outside the case into the rad) anyway, having said all that feel free to ignore however much of it you want, good luck, and i hope you have a blast designing your own case, just remember to make sure you've got the little details covered, that's what makes the difference between an awesome case and one that you use to figure out what to do differently next time.:D

I was planning on using a Chieftec AX-01(or the generic version). I have the steel version now so I can play around with configurations. Plus I've spent 10+ hours dremeling and bondoing the benzel so it seems a waste to loose all that work. It has room up top for 2 PS if you flip them verticly.

I'd like to build a custom case but unfortunately I don't have the tooling required to do it.
