p4 mounting hole same as a64 mounting hole?
Does anyone know the dimensions for the A64 boards 4 hole system? (i know there's some boards with only 2 mounting holes but i heard some others had both 2 and 4)
Is it the same as a P4 mounting hole dimension? thinking of builiding a block but wants it be used on both a64 and p4 (dual rig) |
Not the same.
They are approx ~9cm apart and only one set of two. Havent seen more than that infact. Edit:The holes are 3.5" (8.89cm) apart |
apparently those a64 boards has provisions for 4 holes... it has the 4 blank spots, with apparently no circuitry going through it...
can you say one A64 Motherboard + one 1/2 HP drill-press loaded with one 3/16" bit == warranty smack dab out the window... :D:D WARRANTY?? what's that??? it's a waste of precious time.... |
my error jd
the 4 non-holes are 'keep clear' areas where the plastic feet of the top retention frame bear against the mobo - I would suspect there are traces under the top layer |

Every modern motherboard I've seen (in the last 6 years) has a minimum of 4 layers... some have 8+.

That too, is what I was referring ... multiple trace layer boards have been around for almost 20 years now... :D
|
easy way to figure it out, is to hold the board up to a light.... if the locations of the holes are nice and see-through..... no little lines, then your a lucky-B. if not. well ... you tried :)
. if it's not see-through at all, it means Vcc and Gnd covers it, and the chances of tracing crossing through is virtually guaranteed. |
