Certainly follows the teutonic love of low-flow.

Eheim 1046 through an 8mm ID continuous tube looped radiator.

BillA 12-13-2003 04:02 PM

minimalist in all regards

Since87 12-13-2003 04:04 PM

If someone can read that, can you tell me if there is an explanation for the chunk of circuit board on the top of the die simulator?

Including mountings. They only ever do a single mount per block.

Wish I got my blocks mounted right, first time, every time. Certainly would minimise testing time.

BillA 12-13-2003 04:13 PM

just for the 3 lugs on the socket 462 I believe

hey Ben, this thing WBTA accredited ?
- or do you certify ?

It's the most trusted test-bench in Europe according to what a number of people said who emailed me about the test results of various block.

Does that count for something?

BillA 12-13-2003 04:58 PM

and would that be 'old Europe' or 'new Europe' ?

really difficult to say much
no info on the actual flow rate
no info on the pressure drop
no info on the actual heat load
- just a 'floating' "Differenztemperatur"

it compares very poorly with JoeCs setup

They also changed the heating elements a little while back too, but didn't publically state that, or specifically recalibrate afterwards, or at least that is what was told to me by someone who was following it.

The results are mix of before and after.

I can confirm that.
Over this side of the Atlantic the german sites are highly regarded. Almost an imposed feeling that germans do everything right , as wc testing goes.
However, a little better than most "review" sites.
I give them some credit, but not as nearly as much others do.

Interesting enough, i've seen several forums/people just disregard bill's work with a too often "because" , due to going against some (or all) reported findings of the site(s).

Eh.

>(...)The results are mix of before and after.

All true , but stated on the forums later (partially because it really stood out). Not in the main web page.
Also they pointed out in the forums that direct comparisons may not apply (and gave no furder info or statement). I say "should".

We haven't established any "minimal requirements" yet, so there's no accreditation program, as of now. In time...

Keep lining them up guys: I'm still recruiting. ;)

At it again eh boys/girls? Most unprofessional for a Swiftech employee to be casting aspersions on the test methodology of other sites in Public Forums. Is ProCooling seeking to be the most accruate? Or the up-hold the most accurate definition of poor sportsmanship? Biil A as an employee of Swiftech is the username "unregsitered" an esoteric huphamism for disregarding the unwritten rule more honorable manufacturers abide by?

In other words, leaving their opinions out of Public Forums? I take the Old Values of Old Europe over the "low Blows" at "Low-Flow"in any century. A PhD can mean two things. The ability to regurgitate. Evident above. Or true intelligence which usually encompasses, respect, and humility. Evidence lacking.

Nothing to add to the topic? Your no better than they....

AngryAlpaca 06-11-2004 06:42 PM

Does Bill have a PhD? Also, don't you need to be able to think to get a PhD? I don't think that regurgitation works beyond grade 9. He has clearly shown intelligence and a thorough understanding an infinite times the amount you have shown (anything times 0 is zero)

Bill Adams made no comments about a low flow rate WHATSOEVER. He only pointed out a lack of information. He made no false statements, and only offered one opinion based upon the lack of information. You spelled "unregistered" incorrectly, and he made no comments about pHaestus' setup at this time. You know why? Because at the time of his post, pHaestus' test bench DIDN'T EXIST. Poor sportsmanship? Commenting about the unaddressed shortcomings of others is poor sportsmanship? I can't believe you still visit Pro/forums after you got owned so badly.

You should know by now that you are not going to win a battle of wits with Bill. In fact, I'd place even odds on you being able to win a game of chess vs. Koko. Why not just return to huffing gas or sniffing glue or whatever it is that fuels these ridiculous forum antics and leave well enough alone? It's embarrassing to the onlookers and can't be good for your self esteem.

BalefireX 06-11-2004 06:55 PM

I, for one, do not consider it to be an "unwritten rule" that manufacturers/designers post publically in forums - in fact I think it is the best thing that can happen to a forum, as it often adds real knowledge to spectulation. I know of people from Intel, AMD, Microsoft, various motherboard manufacturers, etc, all who post publically on message boards, just because you work for a manufacturer doesn't mean you are restricted from communicating on the internet. The important thing is that these people make a distinction between when they are speaking as an individual and when they are speaking for their company, and I think BillA has made it clear on a number of occasions that unless otherwise noted, his comments here are his as an individual, not those of Swiftech.

Anyone with even a basic understanding of the science behind watercooling (more than, "ooh, the water goes around in circles and makes everything cool") understands that different block designs are most effective at different flow rates. Since every user isn't using the same system, knowing how a waterblock performs at X GPH isnt very useful if you want to use it at Y GPH. A test covering varying flow rates not only shows the performance of a waterblock more accurately, but it also is much more useful to the end user.

PS. If you are going to throw in big words to sound erudite, for god's sake, use that Thesaurus to get the spelling right. The word is euphemism.

AngryAlpaca 06-11-2004 06:59 PM

On another note, I think it's good for Bill to let us know that he is working for Swiftech.

THAT'S the word he was looking for? That's nothing like huphamism. No wonder I didn't understand...

Embarrassing? I find it great fun and enjoyment. Like seeing someone hit themselves in the head with a claw hammer, just good fun for all :)

you're sounding noobish, its been over a year now
go to OCers and ck out my 'title'
when I speak for Swiftech I do make a specific point in saying so

l3d
I'll provide a civil answer to your troll
I post about testing; extensively, and almost exclusively
and that is it
