Watercooling temp question
 

Let's say I have a Duron 700 running at 1050 with 2.10 volts, and a good watercooling setup...

when I had my peltier alone(no cpu) attached to the watercooling, I had it running at 15V, 15A...i'm guessing that is 225W of heat...my water temperature stayed exactly at ambient with my setup...

is it reasonable to guess that the watercooler will perform similarly with only the duron? (ei: duron attached instead of peltier)

and if so, what can I expect to see as far as cpu temps are concerned?

first off your pelt is far from 100% effiecient, the wattage would more than likely be around 125-150. but then again I might just be off my rocker, eh?

and yes if you can hold near ambient temperatures with something that dissapates more heat than the duron then watercooling the duron shouldn't cause your water to get any hotter.

now then, if you just water-cool the duron you can expect around 5 to 10 degrees centigrade higher than ambient tempurature at full load. With the pelt I would GUESS around -10 to 0 degrees Centigrade at full load.

If the pelt eats 15V and 15A it will produce 225 W of heat. The produced heat is not equal to what's usually cald Qmax.

Peltiers are heat pumps so you also need to factor in the ambient temp around the cold side of the pelt to see how much heat its pulling from the ambient air. Also figure the contact area is much bigger on a Pelt then a cpu core.

Over all I would say its close, but not exactly right. I think the only thing that will accurately tell you is a core itself.
