Clunck! In the computer case.
A couple days ago I started designing one of my cases for watercooling. I decided I wanted to take off the Ati heatsink from my Saph 9500np to measure out all the dimensions. After taking the pins out I could take the HS off. I felt thats its bond to the gpu was very strong, I didnt want to force it... so I had just left it.
3 days later I am surfing through the procooling forums and I hear a "clunck" took me about 5 seconds to realize what had happened :D So I took a quick gander in the side of my case "side panel not on", and I shut down my pc. Finally! It came off on its own. If you want to remove your radeon heatsink, this is a exciting way to do it. :D Not for people who run their comps when they arnt arround though. Would that card fry if I wasnt there to shutdown power in 15sec from it dropping off? |
Only if you were playing a 3d intensive game at the time. It would've been more like "klunk"..."pffffff"
