it's under "chemical tubing", same page as Tygon

UberBlue 02-21-2004 01:31 PM

Right here.

1/2" ID x 3/4" OD SKU# 5231K237

dont get 3/4" OD, that stuff is VERY thick.

soja 02-22-2004 01:02 AM

If not 3/4" OD then 5/8"? 1/16" walled can kink very easily :-/.

BadPenguin 02-22-2004 01:13 AM

im having trouble with that site... does anybody elses cart work?

Groth 02-22-2004 01:37 AM

McMaster's site is overloaded with frames and java. To make a link that'll show the right catalog pages requires bypassing some of their crap, which means the shopping cart doesn't have all its scripts. Make note of what catalog page you are on, then start at www.mcmaster.com and navigate from there.

What's the difference between "Chemical" and "Tygon Chemical". Also, how easily does this stuff kink?

UberBlue 02-22-2004 08:25 PM

"Chemical" = ClearFlex60, the generic equivalent of Tygon.

Thicker the wall, the better it resist kinking.

Sorry for my innocent. I've heard that Silicon tubing is the best choice for water cooling. Also, it is very expensive. Is it true?

If I want to purchase the silicon tubing from McMaster. Is it this one I should look for? #51845K37

Sorry for my poor English as it is not my native language. :D

BadPenguin 02-22-2004 11:24 PM

the thinker the wall, the less the kinkability (cool word) but does that reduce the inside diameter? or does it just add to the outside? (i think i know hte awnser, this is a stupid question)

also, have anybody actually BOUGHT from this store? if so, is it easy? and what about shipping cost/times?

prandtl 02-23-2004 10:23 PM

Bought from them ounce and they ship really fast, like within 24hours as for shipping, i think it was decent and I didn't had to pay for any broker fees (i'm in Canada), wich is always a plus!

How did you get it shipped, and how much did you buy? I would also love to avoid border fees any chance I get.

[Edit:]
And is the Chemical PVC Tubign actually Clearflex, or is it just similar to Clearflex in that its a more generic form of Tygon?

prandtl 02-24-2004 01:56 PM

Chemical PVC Tubing is Clearflex, it is what i bought and got. McMaster actually pay for custom's fee so no need to bother about it. Cant remember the actual price of shipping, but as i said it was decent price, same price range as when you are using USPS actually, except that Purolator does it, but that was a year ago, so I might be wrong.
