RBX Nozzle

heya guys, whats your opinions on which nozzle is the best? (Between Nozzle #4 which is most restrictive and Nozzle #5 which is the directional spray)

Meethoss 02-23-2004 08:38 AM

If nozzle #4 is the one with the long thin line through the centre of the block then that (according AngryAlpaca) is the best.

i believe that the answer will depend on the pump etc. as there is no one optimum...

SlaterSpeed 02-23-2004 11:49 AM

Yeh generaly the more flow the pump has the small the nozzle should be.

Meethoss 02-23-2004 12:35 PM

So what would you recommend for using MCP600 (higher pressure, lower flow)? I'm currently using the standard nozzle. Where would I get another in the UK? Would I just have to get it straight from DD?

may be others too but i couldn't spot it on their sites...

SlaterSpeed 02-23-2004 04:30 PM

You should experiment. the pack comes with all the nozzles so just try them and see which one works the best.

I would think one that is slightly narrower than standard would work best but theres so many factors involved i couldent tell you exactly which would be best.

Ricey 02-23-2004 05:15 PM

yea, im using a MCP600 like Meethoss. Im guessing #4 which has the thin slit in middle but havent read much about #5. Think a japanese site did a review and the #5 spray beat the #4 by a little bit

Meethoss 02-23-2004 05:17 PM

Pack? I didn't get a pack, I just got the block and the screw fittings. I assume there's a nozzle inside it but I haven't opened it to see what I have as I'm pretty new at water cooling.

Ricey 02-23-2004 05:25 PM

DD sells the pack of nozzles (#1-#5 plus a blank one) for $6.50. You can check it out at this link to their accessories section http://www.dangerden.com/mall/Misc_H.../rbx_acces.asp

With any pump stronger than a 1250 I'd bet on the #4, provided there are no other blocks in the loop. If you've got 1 or more other blocks in the loop it'll take a extremly powerfull pump (MD-20rlzt?) for the #4 slit to be of much advantage. With a 1250 or L30 I'd say you may as well stick with the #1, even if you have no other blocks in system.

Ricey 02-23-2004 10:37 PM

so would a MCP600 be sufficient for a #4 nozzle? So far only going to have cpu block but might add a gpu one later

Meethoss 02-24-2004 06:40 AM

I'm gonna have a NB and GPU block in mine, so I take it I should leave it as it is?

Soz i assumed you allredy had the pack

If you using multiple blocks i would leave it as it is. :)

Thanks mate :)

GAH!!!!!!!!! i tried puttin in the dual bay reservoir i got from Danger Den, the mounting holes doesnt align with the removable bay rack on the Antec P160 :( Gonna refund it and get a single bay one from Frozen CPU maybe

Meethoss 02-24-2004 03:46 PM

Ooh, I got an Antec P160 - very nice case! But I had a similar problem with my CoolerMaster Aerogate 2 cos it only has two small holes for mounting and the thing is 1/3 the depth of a CD ROM drive.

If you're gonna change your res then go for the cylindrical Danger Den res. It's got a neat little cap for filling and a block inside it to stop bubbles going in to the loop if you have a high power pump. Very handy :)

Ricey 02-26-2004 03:40 PM

going with the #5 spray since im not sure the MCP600 can handle the #4 with a zchipset/gpu block in loop.
