Temps with Volcano 9
1 Attachment(s)
Right now I have a 2500+ Barton overclocked to 1.96 (due to only having 2700 memory) on a NF7-S with a Volcano 9, rbx will be installed in its place on saturday. As the picture shows, my cpu temp on idle with this is 26.5 and load at around 44. Can this be a true temp reading? that seams kind of low for an idle temp with just a volcano 9, or is it just me?

It's just you. Heatsink+metal=high temps.
Watercooling is also pretty lame by itself and I really can't understand why someone (not u personally) would go to the expense of adding a watercooling system and having warm water pass over their CPU? Water is only effective when you use it with peltier cooling. The two go together very well. |

For the original poster - I have a Volcano9 on an AMD 2400, and the temps are quite low considering it's just a heatsink/fan, but I'm also not using the auto-fan speed feature on it, which means it's running at full-speed and is quite the howler. I'm sure you've noticed the noise level too. |
