Is a fan necessary?
HEy guys,
I'm thinking of build something along the lines of (link below) this. Now it seems that this setup doesn't have a fan, is a fan necessary? What diameter is that tubing, can anyone tell? Cheers :dome: Here is the link Clicky |
nice, interesting
I wonder how he made it? Those transparent tubes are so nice to look @. Isn't there any details on whether it has a fan, and temp results? just noticed yes it has a fanpic link |
I guess you would need a quite heavy pump to push the water all the way up there.

He is using a very impressive bong cooler. I can almost gaurantee he has some fan blowing air through that tube.
Incase you haven't seen a bong cooler before... A bong cooler exposes your coolant to the air. The large surface area allows the water to evaporate, as it evaporates it decreases in tempurature. Hence it cools the water and your system. |
yes you need a fan in the bottom of that setup to blow outside cool air up thru the tube . its called a bong cooler, works like the nuclear plants
its an evaporative cooling measure, the water cools as it evaporates. be prepared to use a rather good size resevoir with it, and be prepared to refill that resevoir every few days to a week depending on how efficient your bong is. it canbring temps below ambient with a very good cooler. |
