AT Power supply
In the search for cooler CPU temps ( nothing extreme) I have installed extra fans in my case - not wishing to put to much extra load on my PSU, at the moment these extras are running of a small 240/12V mains converter such as used for running portable radio/tape decks/ walkmans etc.
I have 3 old AT PSUs here and I thought it might be much better to use one of these. All I want to know is - how can I make one of these run without anything attached - IE : which wires do you connect within the AT plug? ( just like connecting the green and black on an ATX) MTIA Dave KT6V-LSR/XP3000/768MB DDRAM Ti4200/128MB |
The old AT PSUs have a switch to turn them on, and it's connected to mains.
Your best bet would be to have your ATX PSU drive a relay to turn on the AT PSU. Just make sure you select the proper relay. |
