where do I get a damn TEC?

At a computer show I was just at (TCF for those "in the know") i decided "what the hell" and got a little 24w TEC to play with. well its cool (pun intended), hooked it up to an AT PSU with a retail intel heatsink and it got cold. Awesome! Now I'm thinking about getting a 172/220 for my computer (for a 2400+ overclocked heavily I dont know whcih to get), but I honestly dont know where to even buy the things! Obviously I'm not going to just go and buy one on a whim and hook it up (took me 2 years to get WC ;)), so any help is apprecaited on where to get em. I find lots of places telling me how to hook em up, but no place that sells em.

Thanks in advance!

Very weird...
Without ever having looked once for buying Peltiers I found the following link (anyway, Peltiers are quite retarded and unefficient technology, straight WC is much cheaper and as good + do not forget that you need a dedicated Peltier PSU with a 169 or 226W element and condensation prevention...):
http://www.dangerden.com/mall/Pelts/peltiers.asp
There are probably dozens of other online shops that sells Peltier elements....

Alright, an addition: I knew DD had em but DD is waaay overpriced. I would assume some other place would have them cheaper.

also peltiers are more of an addon for WC systems, at least the way I see them. Theyll lower temps 10-20C at least

check on ebay, i've gotten a few from a seller on there called ThermalEnterprises (ebay user name). They all seemed to be in new condition, and they have a wide variety to choose from. I think they sell outside of ebay too, so try emailing them for a complete list of the TECs they have in stock.

Yes me to. They are fairly cheep. If you want one to toy with go low wattage. If you wan't one for cooling your proc. go with something in the 220 range. I made a beer cooler for me desk. It keeps the booze cold till the next morning. Next will be to make a car cooler that will be sold to BMW for big dollar. As for a power supply, you can use a PC supply (preferebly not the same one connected to your rig) to experiment with. For long term use, meanwell makes a dedicated unit. Good luck and don't feer the pelt. You must be weary for the road to pelting is littered with "pelt haters". As you will likely get flamed each time you utter the word pelt.

Thanks for the help guys. I already am playing with my little 24 watter (which from the prices even DD sells their biggest I got ripped off...$20) and its quite fun. I would keep it on all the time but I fear not having adequate cooling. If say the heatsink fell off (not even possible, its lying on a heatsink) whats the worse that will happen? Also if I get one I need to figure out how to do get my damn spir@l on it, or ill have to pay MORE to get the TEC holddown plate for my not as awesome maze4. decisions, decisions.

/edit: this is the biggest I can find on ebay;

A beer cooler(!) Stunned and reverential silence.
Up to now, I haven't been interested in TEC, except in a theoretical kind of way, but...

oh, didnt think about that. it cant be any worse than a second computer can it? i used to have two running but now I only have one so my bill will be less than it used to, but higher than it is now, right?

you have watercooling? why not chill the water with phasechange? TECs wont chill water very well atall, but phasechange would, and doesnt cost enarly as much. Only disadvantage is it takes a lot mroe space, although you wont have to condensation proof everything if you use a thermostat to control the temps...
