Please eval my w/c layout NEWBIE
Here is my 2nd attempt at water cooling my Shuttle SN45G, I previously had an Aquarius 2 kit that was a POS and cooled no better than air. With the introduction of the new C-systems pump, I bought one last night, and am going to jump back into W/C ing. Here is my proposed layout…..
http://img.villagephotos.com/p/2004-2/641473/WC.jpg Here is my parts list... 3/8 tubing all around C-systems pump Swiftech MCW6000-A Water Block GPU block…..undecided Danger Den Black Ice Micro 80mm Radiator (Black) w/ Customizable Fittings I’m trying to cool a 2500 Barton, overclocked to 3200 And a 9800 Pro 256 OEM Flashed to a XT I am going to recycle my 80mm High flow Panaflow or maybe the medium speed one I have in my shuttle now Thoughts? |
I think you need more radiator and possibly a second pump, but I think that system might work as good as something from thermaltake or the barebones swiftech kit. See if you can get two radiators... One on the inside and one on the outside with a fan on either end or both. then, just drill some holes on the side of the case to let the tubes in from the outside and hook it all up. I just think you need way more dissipating space.
That would be a cool setup for a little shuttle though :D |
i dont know what temps youre expecting with cooling a SFF but I believe youre going to be dissapointed. to fit a rad in the case you need an 80mm and those never, ever cool well, even with a tornado, which you probabily dont want.
thatll certainly work but i wouldnt expect it to be better than air |

I definitely agree with kronchev you can't go wrong the a 120mm rad. You just can't get enough cooling from an 80mm from what I've seen.

Thanks for the input guys, I'll post some pictures when I finish. -MKH
