1/2" ID quick connects?

Is there such a thing?
the only quick connects i've seen are for 3/8" tubing.

I might be able to help you out, but what do you mean by a quick connect?

There are some you can guy at MCmaster, but be willing to spend a lot.

The size you need is for 5/8 OD tube with a 1/2 ID. Unfortunately, you cannot buy that size at McMaster Carr. However, John Guest does make a fitting that size, but you will need to search the web to find it.

I think fesco may have what you are after. Have a look on their very detailed website.

I've been looking hard for some of these too. There are industrial and medical supply houses that carry such things but their offerings a very expensive and so far not quite what I want. I'm heading to petsmart today to see if the have any 1/2 ID couplers from Eheim with ball valves. Check valves are an option as well, but they have to be 1/2 PSI or less.

I was at Home Depot the other day and seen that they had some 1/2" OD quick connect fittings.

They had straight connectors, T's, elbows, and maybe some others.

Just mentioning that they had some quick connects....

Do any of you guys know which quick connects you need to work with vinal tubing?? i know some must be avalible as the astek waterchill kits use them. Im just not sure if all quick connects will work as they are normaly used with nylon or poly tubing. (im using 10mm or 3/8 tubing in my 2nd loop)

JFettig 06-25-2004 03:38 PM

for soft vinyl tubing you need the inserts, they make the tube stiff for the part that needs to be.

Hummm yeh that figures. Like swiftech uses. I dont think the waterchill kits use those inserts tho maybe they are incorperated into the fitting.
