It depends.. some products does not have as many resellers and therefore we sometimes have to wait a while :-( Especially American and Canadian products are sometimes a problem, as they don't seem interested in shipping overseas, and shipping, taxes, RMA and payment can be a pain in the famous body part

Look at the latest procooling review... It's not just the Americans.

went out over 6mos ago (before the MCW6000 release), no biggie
so if the 5000 beat (?) the AquaChill, . . . .
he might like the MCW6000 a whole bunch

Hey there.

I am the author of that review in Virtual-Fusion. In this case, yes, Swiftech waterblocks, take a lot of time to appear right here, in Portugal. It is not because of the time it takes to reach here, but the stock which is very very low (as an example, only two stores sell Swiftech waterblocks here in Portugal, and both don´t have the MCW6000 in stock yet, and this MCW5000P was the only one in stock in the store where I bought it).

In the same way, I think there are some waterblocks, specially some made in Germany such as AquaComputer ones, that might not be yet availiable in United States...

Another example, are the DangerDen waterblocks. There are no resellers neither stores for these waterblocks in Portugal which is a bit sad... let´s hope to see some of them soon

Swiftech is very well known here because of their excellent aircooling products, unlike DangerDen which is not known at all. Swiftech is about the only non-european watercooling stuff we can get here in Portugal. But even so, it represents only a marginal share of the market when compared with the german giants Aquacomputer/Alphacool/Innovatek. That´s why we don´t see many US watercooling products reviewed in our country.
The UK is a different story. They have all kinds of watercooling gear there. Unfortunately, the £->€ conversion isn´t much favorable for us to order from there, even if the shipping costs were minimal.

Marsupillami is the best and most experienced portugese watercooling tester. He does very well considering the lack of appropriate equipament. He does a simple and objective review of the block from an end-user´s point of view. "No Liquid3D´s Shakesperian" wannabe here. :p

I enjoyed the review, although one statement left me puzzled:

"The top of waterblock is in anodizado aluminum the blue one. As already it is known, the mixture of aluminum with copper in a system of watercooling is highly harmful, resulting, in a next future, galvanic corrosion. For form to prevent this effect, the Swiftech will have added a special layer of a varnish species, that isolates aluminum of agua."

I thought that the simple fact of the aluminium being anodized would prevent corrosion. Is there really any varnish layer over the top of the block?

Marsu:
Deves aproveitar a oferta do BillA, afinal foi o tipo q desenvolveu o bloco. ;)

BillA 07-13-2004 06:45 PM

I suspect language confusion between "varnish species" and anodizing
