i fill a bowl with about 1 tablespoon of vinegar, one teaspoon of salt, and boiling water. soak the block in it intill it looks cleaner. This and the methods above are slow and inneffective Imho.

The *best* way i have found to clean waterblocks, heatercores, etc. is either a mix of hot water and VTFR (Vehicle Traffic Film Remover, AKA TruckWash) or a mix of cold water and Sodium Hydroxide (AKA Caustic Soda), if you choose either of these methods i take no responsability for any accidents, if you burn your lungs out or melt your hands off, its your fault.

Any good hardware store sells copper cleaning products, they would be the best method.
