Idealy you shouldn't mount the fan directly to the BIP.
there is a dead space in the center of the fan that will move no air...
this will case the BIP to have areas on it's core that won't be doing any cooling.
you may want to consider offsetting your fan .5" to 1" away from the fan by using a shrowd.
