Ambient temps were around 25-26c (85-90F-ish) which, while not a/c standards, isn't too bad, and shouldn't cause such a rise in temps.

what were your load temps? what was the ambient air temp when you took your SK-7 temps? the ambient air temp and CPU temp are directly porportional; i.e., a 5 degree increase in air temp = a 5 degree increase in CPU temp. thus, if your ambient air temp was much lower when you took the SK-7 measurements, it could appear that the SK-7 was just as good as the cascade, when in fact it really wasnt.
