Default base plate thickness&radiator question

a few quick questions

i am gearing up to build my own block out of 1/2 T6 alum. with a poly top i was wondering if the base plate thickness is right.

my other question is are transmission fluid coolers good radiators this system is going to be designed for a very high air flow system my logic in picking this cooler is it measures 15"x8" and is all 1/2 tube. it also offers almost no air flow restriction
i am planning on using 2 110v. fans to push air threw the rad and outa shroud on the back (rads. res and pump and in separate box)

o ya i will be running 2 rads.

thanks
