Default Danner mag 5 and fittings

Hi friends, After a deep search, i have know the problems involving the pump leakage(housing), so i got conclusions, that would like to share with you.
1- Use Plastic barbs with a tefon tape(not much), dont use a wrench, use your hand
2 - seal the o´ring with RTV silicone.
My pump (Mag 5) will arrive tomorrow, so i bought some fittings :
OUTLET A Female 1/2 to 1/2 NPT. I didnt find any plastic type, so i bought a brass one and a nipple 1/2 which a sealed with teflon tape and silicone.
Still some questions, Which one should i use for outlet ?
INLET
No many comments here , i will use the plastic one.
Does this sealant the same as RTV ?
