Attualy it provides quite a bit of benifit flow wise. Placing the pumps in series is like having a pump with a bigger head pressure but the same flow rating. As you may well know the head rating (or pressure rating) is much more important in watercooling as the loops are very restrictive. The down side is that more heat is dumped into the water so it countereacts alot of the benifits of higher flow.
