I finally had time to go through the setup and located the source of the problem. It turns out the spiffy hose clamps i was using actually squeezed the hose creating the leaks, that's what you get by being overly cautious.
[Edit: this was the reason why I had leaks all over the place]
From searching the board I've accepted the notion that clamping of any kind isn't really to prevent leaks as much as preventing hoses from accidentally coming off. So I'm thinking of zip ties for try no. 2, what do you think?
Other than that I really think I got it nicely laid out in the case and I can't wait to get it sorted. Gonna fill, bleed and test outside the case this time since I got all hoses cut to perfect length already.
