I've had one for a couple of years. Originally I had it almost completely encased in foam inside the computer which worked, but it still made a little humming noise. Probably acceptable for most people, but I'm a fanatic when it comes to computer noise. Since I pulled it out of the computer and suspended it in an external MDF box with small bungee cords it is completely quiet.
