Guess due to the restrictive nature of the radiator, to get the best possible heat exchange, you need to force a lot of air thru the radiator.

You could get equivalent push pull performance from a single more powerful fan but you might not like the noise. Maybe a 120 to 80 adapter on the outside with an L1A would be good for performance and noise instead of two noiser 80s. Maybe too much sticking off the back? :shrug:
