Are you in fact submerging the pump?

If so, that is your problem, they are not designed for full time submersion unless you ask for that feature specifically.

However, if it did in fact leak prior... SEND IT BACK !

There would be a major problem if that is the case.

Don't risk it, we will find you another one ASAP or repair your unit.
