New at water cooling.

Hello everyone, I’ve finally decided to make the plunge (pun intended) into water cooling.

My current system is a P4 3.4 @ 3.9 (1.65v) running on an Abit IC7-MAX3.
Trying to keep it cool with a Thermalright SLK800-U with a 80mm Vantec Tornado Fan.
Idle temps are 48 and full load is 64. A little hot for my liking, plus the noise is driving me nuts!

So I ordered a Swiftech H20-22600-P kit, and a Swiftech MCW50 VGA Water block. I know most of you all don’t like “KITS” but I thought this would be the easiest way for me to jump into water cooling. I ordered it through my local shop, been like 3 weeks I’ve been waiting for it. The store told me Swiftech was having difficulties shipping these kits for some reason? Anyone having problems ordering parts from Swiftech?

In my wait for it to arrive I’ve decided to drop the Swiftech Rad676 Radiator that comes with the kit and I picked up a 1986 Chevy Chevette heater core. I’ve made an aluminium shroud for it and have that now mounted in the front of my case.

I’m thinking of setting it up this way… Pump to CPU block to VGA block to Fill and bleed kit assembly to Heatercore and back to pump. Is this the best way to keep the CPU the coolest? I’m hoping to get a bit more speed out of the CPU as well.

Anyone running a Swiftech H20-22600-P kit? What are your temps?

Final question, where can I pick up distilled water? Home Depo???

Thanks
