Yes a GPU block will allow you to increase your core clock significantly over the stock cooler. For the ram, most people add ramsinks like the ones from Tweakmonster and have a case fan blowing over the card usually from the side panel. If you have a 6800 a new waterblock is coming out soon which cools both the core and memory.
