BA is 1.25" (32mm), not 2.5" (64mm).
Seems to me that perhaps that core I linked to is a double thickness core. The core facial dimensions are spot on, but the thickness is twice as thick.
Quite possibly made by a different factory for the USA cars, and probably quite a different sort of core design. Would be nice to see an actual picture.
