'Tis true it's funny sounding, but a legit question. Note the p-q curves on the last page, the ones with the stall?

The pressure-flow curve of whatever you stick behind or in front of the fan will look a parabola and will likely only cross the fan's p-q curve at one point. In those cases where a fan exhibits a deeper stall, you can have situations where the flow and pressure are unstable (and get cool oscillations). Generally, it's best choose a fan where you're operating to the right of the peak.
