First off, what bias. Will OEMs complain that the blocks we had to purchase received a poorer score than they should have? Personally, I have more faith in your testing than that.

Honestly, I don't care too much what the rest of "them" think. The only negative is the amount of energy we seem to waste fighting with people who are complaining, but that is an issue we can take care of by simply not fighting. We can always offer to re-test a block if they want to send an additional one.

I favor the cost effective approach, unless enough of us can band together and share the burden - or if we auction off some of the block (I seem to recall that thread. You mentioned you like to keep the blocks incase of test bed changes and retests and the like.) I'd actually rather us buy all of the blocks, since thats what joe-consumer will be buying and therefore is more representative of the actual product - no chance of a ringer being added to the mix.

Personally, I would be very willing to kick in $10/month to help support WB testing. I'm sure there are a few more people out there willing to do the same.
