see the post prior to yours, many grades for each 'name brand'

- thin vinyl is difficult to seal with hose clamps due to their non-uniform compression under the screw
- thin vinyl also has higher permeation losses than thicker tubing
- silicone has relatively high permeability, but again this is also a function of its thickness
