For performance the MCP600, some early models had a problem that was fixed, I believe it was the pump head. I would personally bag the res, it does nothing for you except interrupt flow IMO. Your flow order is fine, you could go pump > pump > rest of loop if you wanted to. With these 2 in series you should see 1.5 GPM pretty easily. I get very good cooling with my setup
