Default Any problems booting Fedora from CD/DVD?

I've got a yen to put Linux on a nice quiet little system for my wife (I think I can make it more spyware and crash proof that way).

Anyways, the short story is that I can't get Fedora RC2 or test 3 to boot from CD or DVD. I can get XP Home, XP Pro, and FreeBSD to boot from DVD and CD (respectively), so I know that the DVD drive and setup is working just fine. I just can't get Linux to boot.

Any ideas?

HW on her system:
mobo - cheapo A78NX-X with 1GB of RAM
CPU - Athlon 2100
GPU - ATI R128
